Sherardising offers reliable corrosion protection for high-strength steel attachments (stud bolts). The process means it is technically impossible for hydrogen embrittlement to occur.

Sherardised products, whether with a duplex coating or otherwise, are a widely-used solution in the offshore, gas and oil industries. A diffusion galvanised stud bolt combined with a PTFE coating can stand more than 2000 hours of salt spray testing.

The fact that sherardised products are temperature resistant means they can be used at operating temperatures of more than 400°C.
